2The [David] inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” 1 Samuel 23:2
I remember back when I was considering a job offer from Amazon. One of my friends asked, “Well, are you going to take the job or not? You know you can do the job. You would be an idiot to turn down such an opportunity.”

My friend was not a Christian. But I took a deep breath and said, “It is not that simple. I want to be sure I am doing what God wants me to do. I do not want to get distracted by a great job opportunity.” My friend responded, “Seems simple to me, but I guess this is where you tell me you are going to pray about it and wait for God to answer.”
He was right. I wanted to please God and do what He wants me to do. It was only a matter of a couple weeks that God gave me the go ahead to accept the job offer.
Is God concerned about things like a job opportunity? Or maybe a student class election? Or maybe a volunteer opportunity at church? Our heavenly Father wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives. Especially when decisions are difficult and require change in our life and those around us. He does want to control your life. He wants to lead you on a journey that brings fulfillment.
Do you want to know what God wants today for your life? Start with prayer. Take the time to talk to God, and patiently listen for His response. He will tell you.

Father, I want to do your will, not mine. Lead me. Amen.
