Reading: Judges 2 (Optional Reading: Judges 1, 3, 4)

“1 The angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land I swore to give to your ancestors. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you,” (Judges 2:1 NIV)

God is the great promise-keeper. For example.

He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He will stick with you no matter the circumstances in life.
He will lead you to full maturity in Christ (Philippians 1:6). He wants you to grow into a man or woman of God, and he will help you every step of the way.
He will get you to heaven safely and blamelessly (Jude 24). God will not leave you behind. He makes sure all his children get home at the right time. We may have troubles on Earth, but God promises to bring us to his trouble-free heaven without question.
He will reward you for doing good (Galatians 6:9,10). God remembers every good act of your life. God plans to reward you for every good deed, small or great.
Those are just four of God’s promises. You can count on these truths. God never lies, nor does he ever forget anything he has ever said to you.

Holy God, let me rely on your promises and claim them every day of my life. Amen.
